[Fixed] How to Retrieve Deleted Nikon RAW File (.NEF)
As a freelance photographer, I was in the process of moving my .NEF files to my newer bigger WD My Passport Ultra 2TB since it has more space and a longer warranty. Since I had a faulty cable on my WD Elements - I was moving the files to the Passport Ultra to backup. In the middle of the transfer, it stopped and then all I got was "Local Drive H:" and it was inaccessible. I ran the Card Data Recovery with the newer cable attached to the WD Elements and I don't see any .NEF files.
This is a common cut-and-paste file loss case that happens to many people with important files. Though some recovery software are able to recover lost photos from Camera memory card, not all lost them support NEF photo recovery. How to Restore Lost Nikon NEF File?
Step 1. Run Jihosoft Photo Recovery.
Step 2. Click Recover Photo. Or choose Create Image to make a backup for your memory card/device.
Step 3. Select a partition from the list, and then click Advance Scan.
Step 4. Tick NEF format only, and click Scan Now.
Step 5. Preview NEF image information after scan.
Step 6. Select the NEF images you need and Click Recover.
Step 7. Set a location for the NEF files to be recovered.
